Accountability & the Environment

Sustainability

Sustainability is an important part of who we are at Isdalen, and our goal is simple: when you choose products distributed by Isdalen, you should be confident that we’ve done our homework—both in terms of taste and sustainability.

For us, this means choosing suppliers and customers who can demonstrate their efforts—not just with fine words, but with recognized certifications, a genuine commitment to reducing their carbon footprint, and a commitment to caring for people and nature.

The Freedom of Information Act and Due Diligence Assessments

Our work is guided by the principles of the Transparency Act. Among other things, this means that we conduct due diligence assessments of suppliers to identify and mitigate the risk of negative impacts throughout the value chain.

  • All suppliers must adhere to the UN Global Compact’s ten principles for responsible business conduct in the areas of human rights, labor, anti-corruption, and the environment throughout the value chain
  • We require suppliers to sign our Code of Conduct, which is based on the principles of Ethical Trade Norway, and evaluate suppliers through our supplier approval system
  • We are working to ensure that all of our suppliers have Sedex membership or a silver score on Ecovadis
  • We are working to ensure that all of our suppliers document traceability and deforestation, where applicable, through relevant certifications
  • We are working to ensure that all of our suppliers document good working conditions and guidelines that are in line with human rights
  • We are working to ensure that all our suppliers maintain transparency throughout the value chain, and that we, as a distributor, are open and provide our customers with clear and honest information
  • We are working to ensure that all of our suppliers document their principles regarding compliance and improvement, such as sustainability policies, anti-corruption policies, and applicable laws and regulations
  • We are looking for reference customers in Europe
  • We call for transparency regarding relationships connected to war-torn areas
Sustainable Nature – Isdalen

At Isdalen, we are actively working toward more responsible and sustainable operations—and we believe that great taste experiences and responsible choices can be two sides of the same coin. Through this work, we aim to ensure that our responsibility toward people and the environment is integrated into the way we run our business—from raw ingredients to the finished ice cream in the freezer case.

Isdalen operates as a distributor of ice cream and equipment in accordance with the principles of the Transparency Act and guidelines consistent with those of the TINE Group and Diplom-IS:
